Many of the predicted accomplishments of the first year of the reign of the coming Obama/Pelosi/Reid triumvirate listed below are based on ideas and goals that at least one of three has articulated. Others are derived inferentially from past actions and the general approach to governing of today's left-wing politicians and their supporters. As comprehensive as this list might seem, I'm sure that there are other items on the agenda that I have overlooked and other TH readers will suggest.
1. Federal funding for abortions
2. Repeal of DOMA
3. Re-imposition of the fairness doctrine
4. Union card-check legislation
5. Reduced federal funds for right-to-work states
6. Justice Department lawsuits to force banks to forgive mortgage debt of homeowners who meet "historically disadvantaged" criteria
7. Justice Department lawsuits to force large corporations such as Wal-Mart to unionize
8. Justice Department lawsuits to force non-union states to allow teachers and other public employees to bargain collectively and strike
9. Expansion of laws against religious discrimination in hiring and provision of services to include Christian organizations (e.g., forcing Catholic hospitals to provide abortion services).
10. IRS investigations of all conservative-leaning charitable, educational, and faith-based organizations such as Christian schools, adoption agencies, and crisis pregnancy centers
11. IRS investigations of all for-profit entities that promote or are sympathetic to conservative causes (i.e., magazines, radio talk shows, etc.)
12. Universal post-secondary "scholarships" paired with mandatory public service for young adults
13. Funding for universal pre-kindergarten with bonuses for states that lower the age of compulsory school enrollment
14. Transformation of No Child Left Behind requirements to allow schools to substitute subjectively evaluated portfolios of students' work for standardized test scores
15. Re-imposition of offshore drilling ban
16. Overt tax increases on anyone they can get away with calling "wealthy" (e.g., earned income over 250K)
17. Covert or less visible tax increases on everyone else (e.g., increase in hidden federal taxes on kids' vaccines, increase in federal tax on gasoline, cigarettes, etc.)
18. Suspension of "don't ask/don't tell"
19. Immigration reform that includes amnesty and rapid path to citizenship, perhaps allowing years of illegal residency to count towards the residency requirement for citizenship
20. Inclusion of uninsured in federal employees health plans with heavy subsidization of premiums
21. Federal law requiring all employers to provide health insurance
22. Pay increases for members of Congress and all federal employees
The only obstacle to implementation of these goals will be conservative media and grass-roots activism. Get ready!
